Cornerstone Community Church Lawrence, Kansas - How To Have A Personal Relationship With God

How can you have a relationship with God? It’s easy, you must have FAITH!

F – is for Forgiveness. Ephesians 1:7 “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness

of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace”, the “him” in this verse is Jesus Christ.

A – is for Available. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,

that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” The "one and only Son" is Jesus Christ.

But it's not automatic. In Matthew 7:21 Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to me, `Lord, Lord,' will enter

the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”

I – is for Impossible. It's impossible for God to allow sin into heaven, the Bible says in James 2:13 “for He shall have judgment without mercy.”

But also because of who we are! Every person is a sinner. Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

So how can a sinful person get into heaven where God allows no sin?

T – is for Turn and it means to repent. We must turn away from our sins. Luke 13:3 “But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”

And we must turn to Jesus Christ only! Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

H – is for Heaven. Heaven is eternal life in heaven and now. John 10:10 Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.”

So how can you have peace with God, the forgiveness of your sins, heaven and eternal life? By trusting Jesus Christ and asking Him for the forgiveness you need.

Pray this prayer and mean it, “O God I know I am a sinner and deserve hell. I know that Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose again for me. I ask you to forgive me of my sins, please come into my heart and take control of my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen”
